Tulip Season

It’s been a while since we checked in. This weekend we decided to get out to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. Over the past few years, it's become one of our family’s annual traditions and a great way to support a local farm.

Each Spring, a local farm in Woodburn, Oregon opens its tulip fields for visitors to enjoy the beauty of the flowers, spring weather and vistas of the Willamette Valley. In addition to walking the fields, the festival includes a marketplace with local arts and crafts vendors, and several food trucks. We absolutely scored, with perfect weather. A crisp, clear morning soon became bright and comfortably sunny. Perfect conditions for viewing colorful flowers in various stages of bloom, and even fun hot air balloons on location for those wanting to get a bird’s eye view.

Check ahead if you plan to head out to the festival. This year, reservations are required. Check out a few of our favorite views. Photos by our 16 year old son, Jacob.
